Mental Health sessions with Raise

Comprehensive coverage for mental health services, recognising the importance of mental well-being, if you have a personal or work issue that may be impacting any area of your life or wellbeing.
Access to a network of mental health professionals, including therapists and counsellors.
Access up to three online confidential mental health counselling sessions, every policy year.
Book online or call Raise on 0800 735 343 and provide your Southern Cross member number when making the booking, on your member card or in the My Southern Cross app.

You can upgrade the base chemotherapy for cancer benefit available under your plan to one of the Cancer Cover Plus options

Cancer Cover Plus

You can upgrade the base chemotherapy for cancer benefit available under your plan to one of the Cancer Cover Plus options* (Chemotherapy 100 and Chemotherapy 300) to increase your cover for chemotherapy for cancer, including increased cover for non-Pharmac approved, Medsafe indicated chemotherapy drugs.

Cancer Assist

Cancer Assist is an affordable addition to your health insurance plan (excluding HealthEssentials) and provides you with a one-off payment, over and above your health insurance, should you be diagnosed with a qualifying cancer. Use the one-off payment to spend on what’s important to you at a time when you need it most.

Check You Are Eligible

You can join Southern Cross, so long as:

you are eligible after 6 months of continuous employment
you are eligible for publicly funded health and disability services in New Zealand.

If you're eligible, please follow the 3 steps below to become a Southern Cross member.

Choose the right plan for you

It is easy to join Southern Cross online

We will send you a link when you become eligible for the group scheme with Southern Cross, through Agvance. Please contact Rod Schubert at rod@rsfa.co.nz, if we have not already been in touch. You should apply as soon as possible after becoming eligible to take advantage of the specified pre-existing conditions cover (you have 3 months from your eligibility date)

Include your family and their pre-existing conditions

If you have family members to add, then we should add them when you sign up. They are also eligible for pre-existing conditions coverage provided they are added within 3 months of your eligibility date. Also, if you have a newborn, we can look to add them with pre-existing condition cover if added within 3 months of their birth.
