Meet our newest member of the
RSFA Team – Cam Sinclair
Born and raised in Central Auckland, I attended Mount Albert Grammar School and was a prefect and 1st 11 captain in my final year there. I excelled in the math and economics classes in high school and carried that into my tertiary education. Securing a football scholarship to a University in the USA, I studied and played my sport for 4 years, gaining an Indiana University degree in Finance with a minor in economics, graduating with an A average GPA. After University I worked in a large credit union for 1 year before coming back to New Zealand.
Since beginning my financial advising career I have learned many things, and am excited to pass this knowledge on to my clients. My ultimate aim is securing the best and more suitable finance terms, along with providing sound advice with the backing and support of an experienced company director in Rod Schubert who has 20 years’ experience in the industry.
Whilst I am set up to assist with all residential lending matters, whether that be main or non-bank, I have a special interest in first home buyers where I will spend the time required to ensure the best possible client experience, and work with you from the start right until the end, and beyond.

It’s been another quiet year on the western front, nothing to see here. Anything but for most I’m sure but we are here, and the world keeps spinning.
We have faced a traumatic event of a pandemic this year, that arrived on our doorsteps as the year started and fortunately has for the most part stayed away from our doorsteps as we continue to protect our borders and implement strategies from a health and economic response. We know some of our clients have been affected by the pandemic, as we’ve spoken to them and looked to help where we can. Overall, despite the publicity banks have recently had for delays along the board, from what we have observed they have for the most part done an excellent job with assisting those clients that have and still require assistance. If you are a client of RSFA and need to reach out due to financial hardship please do feel free to drop us a line and we can assist.
The market is hot and we wonder when it ‘will end’. If we could pick that, we would not be financial advisers, rather clairvoyants. My financial advice is to stay clear of those that ‘know’ what will happen in the future. Even our so-called ‘experts’ did not predict the growth in house prices we are seeing. As always, supply and demand is the driver of prices and the demand with such low rates are one of the primary influencers of increasing prices. I like to use simple logic when discussing a correction when of course many are wondering how much prices will fall next year if there is a correction? Well, if the prices go up another 20% between now and when they take a 10% correction, was this still a good investment? We cannot predict if, when, or how much prices will increase or decrease. The experts have consistently shown us this over the years. What we do know is housing has been a well-performing asset class over our history and will continue to go through ups and downs. We cannot influence house prices at RSFA, but we can provide pragmatic financial advice, where we take the time to help with genuine expertise and quality of care.

As always, RSFA operates almost exclusively by word of mouth and without referrals, we may need to retrain as clairvoyants.
